How Tony Evans' Niece Made an Eternal Impact Before Suddenly Losing Her Life
What if God could use ordinary yet exhausting tasks like dirty laundry, kitchen messes, toy clean up, diaper changes, paying bills, sitting at a desk for eight hours, school drop-off and pick-up, or grocery shopping to change the world for the kingdom of God?
On an episode of Parent Compass, Jonathan and Wynter Pitts’ story says He can do that and so much more when people simply stay faithful to Him as they go from one task to the next.
Wynter, niece of Tony Evans, and Jonathan both grew up in homes centered on Christ, and when their two worlds collided, she felt called to be a stay-at-home mom to their four girls who they were raising to know God and love His truth. However, Wynter quickly discovered the burnout that comes with fulfilling mom duties in the 24 hours of each day, becoming discouraged by the exhaustion.
She shares how she continued to do the next thing in front of her, intentionally asking God for peace and the ability to be present in each passing moment. As she walked this way into the responsibilities before her, taking care of her daughters was more than a duty, it became her daily ministry.
Investing in the character of her girls’ lives eventually led her to create a book of all the things she desired to pass down to her oldest daughter and child star of the movie “War Room.”
Out of this one small book and act of obedience, God led Wynter to start a full-blown ministry called “Girls Like You.” Using her passion and gifts in graphic design and writing, Wynter was able to influence not only her own daughters, but girls all around the world through listening to God’s voice with every step she took.
“Make getting to know God the main priority and He will work out the details,” Wynter said.
In 2018, Wynter unexpectedly lost her life, and while she left behind a grieving family, she also imprinted a forever impact on this world that continues to further God’s kingdom and spread the fragrance of His love above and beyond what she could have ever dreamed or imagined.
