"Miracle" After 3 Bibles Spared from Massive Apartment Fire
Disaster struck at the Carrington Apartments in Hendersonville, Tennessee last week. The Hendersonville Fire Department was called on August 2nd at about 5 p.m. as fire roared through four of the units. Six other units had power shut off so officials could investigate the cause.
Assistance from the Red Cross is being offered to those who lost their homes, according to WKRN.
It’s times like this when a person comes to realize the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus. Because in times like this, a person must make a profound choice: either run to the Lord as hard and as fast as possible, or turn away.
In choosing to run to Him, a deeper revelation is realized that He is the One person that can be of the most help.
Sharon Layne lived in one of the damaged units. She describes herself as a Christian woman with a deep faith in Christ Jesus.
Layne was already reeling from the recent loss of her husband and her mother. Now the newly widowed woman was also homeless. She cried out for God’s mercy in the midst of this, and He responded to her cry.
God has a special place in His heart for widows, the fatherless, and orphans. He moved through firefighters, who were able to recover something deeply meaningful to her.
“They went in and searched for my three Bibles and one of them was from my husband of 30 years that recently had passed. One of them was from my mother that recently passed and one of them was my Bible,” said Layne.
“A firefighter, when he was coming down he brought it to my attention,” said Layne. “He said, ‘Do you notice how the outside’s burned? But the inside, all of your pages, there’s nothing burned or singed on your Bible.”
“I’m a strong woman of faith in Christ Jesus, I could lose everything, but… it meant so much to me,” said Layne.
“I believe in miracles,” she continued, “and I’m really blessed. I’m so grateful that nobody was injured. And I trust God that even though we lost everything that I know that He’s faithful.”
