Truth vs. Lies - Which Do You Proclaim? - Part 2
In Part 1, we discussed how sometimes we believe lies about ourselves instead of the truth.
We must claim our true identity to walk in victory.
God is constantly renewing our minds. Romans 12:2, confirms it’s the changing or renewing of our minds that transforms our lives. So how do we do this!?!
Here are a couple of questions to start creating this discipline:
- What negative thoughts are dominating your thinking?
- What spiritual truth will demolish these strongholds?
Finally, once you have answered the first two questions, move on to this final step.
Create your own morning mindset moment declaration to be recited every morning when you wake up.
We are providing you with a list of positive affirmations. Please use this list to get you started.
However, you will need to make your declarations based on the answers to the questions here.
Reciting my Morning Mindset proclamation is probably the most meaningful way I connect with God in the mornings.
I’ve realized that most of my battles are won or lost in my mind. I constantly remind myself that my life is moving toward my strongest thoughts.
If I don’t like the way my life is going, the first place I look is at my thoughts. Like the Apostle Paul says, sometimes I do what I don’t want to do.
Paul also said that we don’t just fight with the weapons of this world. Instead, we’ve been given divine power to destroy those strongholds that build up in our brains.
In Philippians 4:8, ESV, Paul wrote:
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Paul was telling us how to rewire our brains to do what we know is right, what we want to do. He gave us clues about how to repave the pathways in our brains with the divine power of God’s Word.
We can’t just read the truth once. We need to read it, write it, think it, meditate on it, and repeat it daily. Renewing our minds is a daily process.
We can wake up every morning to our Morning Mindset Moment and declare and announce what God says about us. You can state this with strength and conviction.
When I first started reading my Morning Mindset proclamation out loud, I felt hypocritical. It felt inauthentic to me.
As time has gone on though, I am able to make this statement boldly, not because I have mastered it. Not because I am executing it perfectly. Because God is renewing my mind every day.
Every day I believe a little bit more, a little bit more every single day I read it, that what God says about me is true.
This, my friends, is the whole point of why we are declaring these statements over our life. Create your own morning mindset moment declaration to be recited every morning when you wake up. You will be glad you did.
