Mom Screams with Pure Joy When Military Son Surprises Her in Middle of Grocery Store
Two years is a long time.
Too long to be separated from your son, even if you know he’s stationed in Germany, proudly serving his country in the U.S. military.
The pandemic created interruptions in all our lives — but for this military family, it meant being apart longer than they ever expected.
Still, this son couldn’t help but surprise his mother when he returned to the U.S. last July by catching her in the grocery store!
USA Today reports, “When he came around a corner, his mother gave a loud scream full of joy and dropped to her knees at the sight of her son after so long.”
“It’s so sweet, we might just need a cleanup of our own tears on Aisle 5!”
As the two embrace with friends, family, and shoppers looking on, we can hear the mother laughing and exclaiming, “Yes, yes, yes!”
Those who viewed the video on Facebook Watch shared a variety of reactions.
Most admitted that seeing any of these military family reunions brings them to tears. Others thanked the young man for his service to our country and to his mother for sacrificing the time with her son.
Another military mom found hope for her long awaited reunion, commenting, “Army mom here…it’s coming up on two years since I’ve seen my son. Hopefully soon…. Enjoy it happy mama!”
One commenter confessed tears: “It put tears in my eyes! I’m speechless! So sweet!”
And one viewer applauded the reunion and also admired mom’s fashion sense! “This is so very lovely. Only made better by her ADORABLE yellow sneaks!!”
The Veteran Site also commented on the ear-piercing but emotional reunion.
“‘She hasn’t seen her baby in forever!’ one of the family members cried out while filming the special surprise homecoming.”
“It’s safe to say that this is a shopping trip she will never forget!”
Surprise or not, every reunion of a soldier with their family is worth celebrating and applauding as a nation.
Grab your tissues and allow yourself a couple of tears as well as a prayer for all those still awaiting their happy day.
