Influential Christian Leaders Set Impressive Goal To Reach Every Corner of the Earth with the Gospel by 2033

Have you prayerfully considered what God would have you do in 2023? How about for the next decade?
Last week in New York City, more than two dozen ministry leaders gathered “to combine their experience and insights toward the goal of Great Commission fulfillment within the next decade.”
Christian Newswire and Religion News Service report that the December 5-6 event was hosted by Dr. Billy Wilson, Oral Roberts University President, Pentecostal World Fellowship Chair and Empowered21 Global Chair, and Dr. Rick Warren, Executive Director of Finishing the Task and Founding Pastor of Saddleback Church.
Gathered leaders were there to pray, connect, and collaborate on how together, we can fulfill the great commission.
“‘I believe we are entering the most important decade of Great Commission effort in the history of the church,’ shared Dr. Wilson.”
The Great Commission is the term for Jesus’ charge to the eleven remaining apostles recorded in Matthew 28:16-20, ESV:
“Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”
The two-day meeting resulted in a document indicating their commitment to, over the next decade, work together in collaboration, earnestly pray for people’s salvation, motivate other Jesus-followers to join with them, and increase dedicated resources for evangelism.
“In our polarized world, it’s easy to erect walls and go it alone with just your own tribe,” noted Warren. “It takes courage to build bridges to others who love Jesus but don’t believe or practice the faith in the same way you do.”
But, that’s what Warren witnessed with these 24 leaders of ministries that weekend.
The group will meet again at Amsterdam2023, “a three-day conference hosted by Empowered21 on June 21-24, 2023 at Amsterdam RAI & Olympic Stadium.”
