Meet the Professional Soccer Player Who Still Lives at Home with Parents

Home is not only where the heart is, it may also be where the key to professional soccer success is found!

Despite bringing home a paycheck commensurate with being “one of Europe’s elite right-backs,” CNN reports that 23-year-old Trent Alexander-Arnold chooses to live at home. “Alexander-Arnold’s grounding has proved key for him remaining level-headed, despite being a vital cog in one of the best football teams in the world.”

While other young professional athletes prioritize moving out on their own and spending their new-found wealth on pricey houses and cars, this Liverpool icon “still lives with his parents, doing the dishes and learning habits that help keep his life ‘clean and healthy.’

“Staying in a place where everything is stable has helped him reach the heights he has, Alexander-Arnold explains.”

And this super-star knows a thing or two about winning. He’s won in “Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.” So, when he explains that one secret to his winning life is remaining grounded with family, people listen.

Alexander-Arnold told CNN Senior Sport Analyst Darren Lewis that he feels young players are in too much of a rush to move out, to be independent, and to spend money.

“‘And then the environment is just not the same. You’re living at home. You’ve got your parents to keep you in line and make sure things are clean and tidy, the dishes aren’t stacking up and you’re going home to a nice, clean environment and things like that.

“I’ve just always enjoyed having family around me. And they’ve kept my feet on the ground and pushed me to the levels that I’ve got so far. So I don’t think there’s any rush for me to make a decision.'”

Now a renowned player for the team he idolized as a young man, Alexander-Arnold made his professional debut in 2016 and now “has blossomed into one of the most dynamic fullbacks in the world, terrorizing defenses from a deep position with his precise crosses and accurate through-balls.”

Should more young adults follow Alexander-Arnolds example?

This is one home-town boy who has not only done Liverpool proud by playing for the home team, he’s also done his family proud by recognizing the value of sticking with home as a winning foundation for life.
