Maverick City Music Puts "Pause" on Relationship with Longtime Member
There’s still a great deal of mystery surrounding what happened between Dante Bowe and Maverick City Music. However, it’s clear that his many fans are upset and wanting some answers, according to social media accounts.
The accounts are not presently allowing comments or questions.
The American Christian worship singer has a long trail of accolades, according to his website. Grammy nominations and a Dove Award are highlighted, as well as his Billboard successes. In fact, he’s touted as the first artist to have the greatest number of simultaneous Grammy nominations in both the Gospel and Christian genes.
Bowe is originally from Rockingham, North Carolina and is now based in Nashville, Tennessee.
The singer-songwriter-recording artist’s philosophy regarding worship is that, “Raising the level of authenticity in worship will cause cultures, generations and denominations to unite in a worship movement by merging gaps and removing all boundaries.”
Dante has not been removed from Maverick City Music, but a decision was made that he temporarily will not be touring or performing on their stage.
A public statement released from Maverick City Music via Instagram is the only indication that there is some sort of challenge or personal struggle.
The general statement only mentions Bowe’s behavior that is “inconsistent” with their core values and beliefs. Maverick City Music is “a collective of various artists from many different backgrounds and life experiences,” therefore, “…no one artist’s actions or behavior can always be attributed as a reflection of our core beliefs and values.”
The statement further expresses an intent to be supportive of Bowe as issues are worked through, and that, “Each of us need God’s grace, and our hope is that we all pray and give him the same opportunity to grow in Christ as we give ourselves.”
