"Duck Dynasty" Star Gives Update After Daughter's 14th Operation
Mia Robertson is breathing better and so are her parents!
Duck Dynasty star Jase Robertson and his wife, Missy, provided updates this week about their 18-year-old daughter after the 14th surgery for her cleft lip and palate.
According to an article on The Christian Post, Jase responded to questions about Mia on his podcast “Unashamed.”
“She’s doing great now. She turned a corner,” her father stated.
When Jase’s father Phil Robertson asked about Mia’s breathing, Jase replied, “Everything seems to be, to be fine.”
The road has been long for Mia and her family. Missy Robertson made these comments on her Instagram this week.
“People ask me, ‘How many more surgeries does Mia have left?’ The answer is always, ‘We just don’t know.’ HOWEVER, this may, possibly, likely, has a good chance to, could be…the last one! What a journey this cleft road has been.”

Missy also commented that now that Mia is an adult, she’s taking the lead in her medical conversations and paperwork, which is an adjustment for her parents. “It’s been a little strange. But it’s just another reminder to lean on the Lord and that I’m not in control.”
Missy and Jase expressed gratitude for the prayers of so many Christians who have followed Mia’s story through these multiple surgeries and prayed out of compassion for their family.
“Surgery went a little longer than expected, but she is home and recovering,’ he told podcaster listeners. ‘Thank you for praying for her and for our family. She is a champion!'”
Mia took the lead, not only with her medical team, but also with a thumbs up on Instagram and a positive attitude reflected in her comment.

Every parent who has walked a child through a long-term medical condition understands the relief for the Robertsons that they may be turning a corner on this journey.
