This Video of Rev. Billy Graham is Exactly What World Needs to Hear Right Now
The voice of Rev. Billy Graham ringing out from a past sermon is exactly what the world needs to hear right now.
Franklin Graham posted a forty-seven second clip of one of his father’s sermons to his Twitter account on Wednesday with the hashtag #WednesdayWisdom.
The clip contains Rev. Graham’s charge to all who will listen to commit to Jesus Christ.
“Are you unstable about your relationship to Christ? Do you waver in your relationship to Christ? Or are you totally committed to Christ as Savior and Lord?” he asks listeners.
He continues explaining that many people “waver by the way you live” and cautioned that Jesus preached against hypocrisy, “people who pretend one thing and live another.”

Rev. Graham referenced that Jesus frequently spoke out against religious hypocrisy. He warned His followers not to give, pray, or fast in such a way as to be noticed by others “like the hypocrites” in Matthew 6.
He chastised the Pharisees for preaching one thing and living another, calling them hypocrites in Matthew 23 and other passages recorded in the Gospels.
Rev. Graham, in this clip, challenges listeners to stop wavering and commit to Jesus now.
In his “Answers” column on the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website, the now late Rev. Graham answered a question in 2012 about what it means to commit our lives to Christ. The woman asking was facing health challenges and was worried she might miss out on heaven when she died.
Rev. Graham used marriage as an illustration. He said that before the woman married her husband, both of them believed they loved one another. When they married, they committed to love one another until death.
“The same is true when we come to Jesus Christ. We may believe He existed; we may even believe He gave His life for us to purchase our salvation. But something else needs to take place: We need to commit our lives to Him — to trust Him completely as our Savior, and vow to follow Him as our Lord.”
The video received some support on Twitter but also a slew of angry comments expressing hostility toward Rev. Graham’s message, Franklin Graham, and other topics. These comments only serve to highlight the imperative of Rev. Graham’s message and the urgency of sharing it in our times.
The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 10:9-10, ESV, “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
Rev. Graham’s voice rings out in the final seconds of the clip with an invitation to us all, a call to immediacy, a warning not to wait: “Don’t waver. Make a decision. Do it now.”
