Tragic: Christian Actor and Beloved Power Rangers Star Dies Suddenly
Tragic news.
“Jason David Frank, best known for his portrayal of Tommy Oliver in the ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ franchise, died at the age of 49,” as reported by The Western Journal.
TMZ has received confirmation from Frank’s representative, Justine Hunt, that the actor’s death was a result of suicide.
“Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being. He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed,” Hunt told TMZ.
Frank is survived by his four children.
The Power Ranger franchise posted a statement to their Instagram that reads, “All of Ranger Nation is deeply saddened by the loss of Jason David Frank. JDF brought countless smiles to fans over the years and will be greatly missed.”

Besides acting, he was a professional MMA fighter, a Christian, and founder of the first Christian-based MMA apparel company, Jesus Didn’t Tap.
In 2014, Frank told CBN News that his relationship with Jesus began after the death of his older brother, Erik Ray Frank.
“I didn’t really understand what the whole church thing was about and then” Frank said. “When I lost my brother it was like people were telling me I need God and all that stuff, and I was like, ‘If one more person tells me that, then that is what it is.'”
“TMZ earlier reported that Frank’s second wife, Tammie, filed for divorce from him in August,” according to Fox 26 in Houston.
Our prayers are with his family and friends as well as all the fans who looked up to him as an actor, martial artist, and Christian.
