State Trooper Buys Halloween Costumes for 3 Kids After Receiving Call from Single Mom
State troopers save lives — but this time, a state trooper in Michigan saved three children from a Halloween heartbreak, and that makes him a hero to one single mom.
MSP First District reported on Twitter that the mother of three asked for help when the package containing her children’s Halloween costumes was delivered to her neighbor in error. The mom had photos to back up her report.
When this had happened in the past, the neighbor previously living at that address would just bring the packages to her. Unfortunately, the new occupants of that address have not been so helpful and the packages were now missing.
“When the neighbor was contacted about this incident, they denied having the complainant’s packages and were otherwise uncooperative.”
WILX states, “The mother said she did not want to press charges and that she only wanted her package back since she cannot afford or have the time to get new costumes for her kids.”

Thankfully, this state trooper decided to do what he could to help the family. “The trooper who responded to the call ended up meeting with the family at a store where he purchased new costumes for the kids before Halloween.”
Photos of the family with Trooper Martin show them smiling from ear to ear. One young man is even dressed in a police uniform, just like the kind officer who helped to save his night of trick-or-treating.

This story could have ended with just an officer filing a report. Three children might have missed out on the fun they’d looked forward to all year and mom would have lost out on both her money and her children’s smiles.
Instead, the trooper demonstrated that police officers have hearts of gold and a family was happy and grateful.
“Way to go Trooper Martin!”
