Shannon Bream is the new anchor of “Fox News Sunday,” becoming the first woman to anchor the program in its 26-year history, announced recently by Fox News.

The station’s Facebook page states that the history-making Bream was “‘ESPECIALLY GRATEFUL'” as she “leans on her faith” in processing the announcement saying, “‘God walks with us through our deepest sorrows and celebrates with us on our mountaintops. Our circumstances may change, but He never will.’ – Shannon Bream.”

Bream will step down from hosting her weeknight program, “Fox News @ Night” and the show will be hosted by guest hosts until a replacement is named. She will, however, continue serving as the network’s chief legal correspondent.

“Bream also landed on the New York Times bestseller list with back-to-back titles about the lives of biblical women.”

“A founding author of FOX News Books, she wrote ‘The Women of the Bible Speak,’ which was released in March 2021, and its follow-up, ‘The Mothers and Daughters of the Bible Speak,’ which came out a year later. Both have been tremendously successful and helped Bream fulfill a dream of landing on the prestigious list.”

Prior to joining Fox News, Bream was an anchor at local stations in Washington, D.C., and Charlotte, North Carolina. She’d previously served as a reporter in Tampa, Florida.

Bream has a background in corporate law specializing in race discrimination and sexual harassment cases.

“‘It has been an honor to cover major news throughout Washington over the last 15 years at FOX News. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to host a Sunday show and look forward to this new role,'” she said.

Bream’s faith shines through in her writing, and her new release, “The Mothers and Daughters of the Bible Speak,” according to The Western Journal, “looks at women from both the Old and New Testaments through the lens of family relationships.”

In an interview, Bream states, “There are some [stories] of faithful, beautiful, courageous families in the Bible. There are others that are very dysfunctional, but I think it’s great that God includes all of those because we can all identify with some part of that at different points in our life.”

Suzanne Scott, Fox News Media CEO, had high praise for Bream as a journalist, reporter, and anchor and as a professional who has “cultivated a strong and enduring relationship with the FOX News Media audience.”

Shannon is also the author of the 2019 book, “Finding the Bright Side: The Art of Chasing What Matters.”

Women of faith can certainly be inspired by this gracious role model who has chased what matters and now finds herself a faith-informed voice of influence in a time when we’ve never needed those voices more.
