Police Officer Shares Heartwarming Post After Helping Man Who'd "Been Shot 8 Times"
Good news travels fast and far!
It’s also good to revisit good news from time to time. Stories of people helping others never grow old, especially in seasons where good news is hard to come by.
That’s why we decided to revisit a report that went viral on the Blue Line Heroes Facebook page a while back. Since it was originally reported, it’s been shared over 65,000 times!
According to the Facebook post, Officer McHenry submitted a photo of herself and a gentleman involved in a routine traffic stop for a flat tire. The gentleman explained to Officer McHenry that he had a donut he could use in place of the flat but he had no jack to do the work.
The police officer had a jack and began to do the work. The driver thanked her but insisted he could never let a woman replace his tire for him.
After he jacked up the car, he realized he didn’t know how to do some parts of the tire change that Officer McHenry knew to do. The gentleman and the officer worked together to complete the switch from the flat tire to the donut.
While they worked, Officer McHenry noticed the man was in pain. He explained “he had been shot 8 times and has severe leg/back pain.”
With the donut secured in place, McHenry sent him on his way but noticed he left an item at the scene. She caught up with the man who, she states, insisted they take a picture together as “proof that cops aren’t bad.”
He told her he planned to share their experience and reportedly urged her to do the same.
Officer McHenry stated that she happily shared their story “Because, you see….it’s NOT a black and white thing. It’s NOT a male and female thing. It IS a HUMANITY thing.”
One person helping another. Good Samaritans abound.
