The Majesty of Jesus Christ
The Majesty of Jesus Christ
If we are to love Christ supremely and greatly, we must see Him as He is.
In the fullness of the Scriptures we get a grand portrait of Jesus. And in the Scriptures we see the manifold and infinite splendor of Christ.
Come behold the wondrous majesty of Christ:
He is the radiance of the Father’s glory; angels cannot look upon Him, demons flee from Him.
All things are created by Him, through Him, and for Him.
He holds the universe in the span of His hand, holds the breath of every creature, and has all authority in His hands.
All the nations are a drop in the bucket, all men are like grass, all things are His servants.
Jesus governs governments, establishes kings, tears down kingdoms. He makes poor, and He makes rich. He ordains all things, rules all things, and orders all things.
He is infinitely higher than all, yet descended infinitely lower than all.
He is the Lion and the Lamb. He is mighty and mild. Fully sovereign God, yet fully subjected man.
Timeless, yet died; eternal, yet aged; self-sufficient, yet dependent; omniscient, yet learning; omnipotent, yet growing; giving life, yet raised to life.
He hungered — yet He fed thousands, the Bread of life.
He thirsted — yet He exclaimed: “Whoever thirsts, let him come to me and drink,” the Water of life.
He was tired — yet He is the rest for the weary and heavy laden.
He prays, yet He hears prayer. He weeps, yet He puts an end to weeping.
He is sold for silver, yet He buys back the world at the cost of His own life.
He defeated death by dying; crushed Satan by suffering; removes sin without sinning.
His resurrection is permanent; His ascension is powerful; His intercession is perfect.
Jesus Christ will forever preserve His church, protect His sheep, and purify His people.
His power is boundless, His mercy is bottomless, His grace is matchless.
His knowledge is limitless, His wisdom plentiful, His provision bountiful.
His wrath is powerful, His judgments are truthful, His majesty incomparable.
His beauty unfading, His life unending, His promises enduring, His love everlasting.
Jesus Christ is holy, holy, holy — there is none like Him and none above Him.
He is your Lord, He is your Creator, He is your King, He is your God. This is your Christ!
