Hallmark Star Breaks Silence: Defends Candace Cameron Bure Amid Recent Social Media Backlash, "She Is Loving to All People"
Who has your back when the heat is on?
Apparently, for Candace Bure, besides friends and family, former co-worker, actor Paul Greene is willing to speak up on her behalf.
Bure has taken a lot of heat for her recent interview with The Wall Street Journal where she stated that The Great American Family Network will likely only feature traditional couples in their films.
Celebrities have taken to Twitter and other social media to condemn her for her comments and accuse her of “homophobia.”
The Bible warns of these times when stating biblical truth will create conflict with others.
Peter encouraged all Christians to “Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation” 1 Peter 2:12, ESV.
From Paul Greene’s comments, Candace has done just that.
He was asked by TV Insider, “You mentioned A Christmas Detour. What’s your take on everything going on with your former co-star Candace [Cameron-Bure] and the backlash to The Wall Street Journal interview?”
His response was a glowing review of her character.

“From what I know about Candace, none of what they say in the media recently makes any sense or is true. They left out important parts of what she said [to The Wall Street Journal] and who she is. I know who she is. At her heart. Her friend and manager are a part of the LGBTQ community. She is amazing. She is loving to all people.”
Greene is a star of Hallmark’s “When Calls the Heart.”
He was even willing to risk pressure on his own life to stand up for her according to Faithwire. “I have so many friends that are gay,” he said. “They may get upset I’m not coming out against her, but I’m not, because she is my friend. And I know her heart. People are so divided, and there is so much money to be made on division. I just wish we [could] all come together.”
Fans of Bure can take their cue from how Bure is handling the pressure. She’s responding in love (just read her Instagram response), not only to those who support her, but also to her detractors.
She’s taking that stand because of her faith in God to judge. Those who support her will be wise to do as she does.
And send a shout out to class acts like Paul Greene. We need to show love all around, especially during a time where others are choosing criticism and hate.
