North County Fire and Rescue in Jennings, Missouri posted about a Miracle on their Facebook page.

Miracle Moore is a 10-year-old in their district who called 9-1-1 when her mother went into labor three weeks early and recognized her need for help.

“What happened next was nothing but sheer awesomeness! Thanks to the calm, cool, and collected voice from the 9-1-1 dispatcher, Scott, with Central County Emergency 9-1-1, Miracle was able to help coach her mom through delivery of her newest baby sister, Jayla.”

“Miracle followed all of the instructions given to her over the phone, and when mom didn’t cooperate, she broke out her own “mom voice”! When baby Jayla arrived, Miracle was there with a towel to wipe off her face and to help stimulate her to cry and keep her warm until paramedics arrived.”

People reports that dispatcher Scott Stranghoener was the man who talked Miracle through the entire event.

He’s quoted by the local news station KSDK as saying, “I learned pretty quick that we had a serious situation. We have a set of protocols that we follow, and she followed all of my instructions to a ‘T’ and did an amazing job.”

Viola Fair told reporters that she’s very proud of Miracle.

“It was definitely a miracle because once I had the baby, she came out, I couldn’t really grab her and pick her up and then Miracle came and she wrapped her up in a towel,” Fair said. “She wiped her off and rubbed her back a little bit so she could cry. So, she was really helpful. I am very thankful.”

Miracle has received many certificates and has been honored as a hero. The baby received gifts and so did Miracle’s little sister, Taylor, who is now a big sister herself!

Miracle received “a special certificate and a personalized shirt from CCE911, a pink stork pin (that EMS providers typically receive after delivering a baby in the field) and another special certificate from CHEMS, and from NCFR she received a tablet loaded with educational games and a special journal to document all the amazing things she has done and will do!”

Christian Hospital EMS posted a photo of the family and all first responders involved to honor Miracle and the team who supported Jayla’s entrance to the world.

Beyond all the accolades and recognition, the lasting gift to this family is the confidence that Miracle has the strength to face any emergency, a legacy she’ll certainly help pass on to her younger sisters.
