"AGT" Judges and Host Grant Special Make-A-Wish for 6-Year-Old Girl
America’s Got Talent judges are famous for saying, “Two minutes can change your life.” 6-year-old Rosalyn, of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania has already had her life changed for the better and now she wants to share that joy with others.
Last March she rang the bell for her final cancer treatment and determined to move into better days.
Now, thanks to Make-A-Wish Philadelphia and the Susquehanna Valley chapter, Rosalyn has achieved her dream of performing for the judges on AGT.
According to People, this has been her dream for a long time. “Along her journey, Rosalyn’s wish was to sing the Avril Lavigne song that inspired her as she went through treatment on AGT. Last month, it finally happened — and PEOPLE has an exclusive look at the heartwarming moment.”
Rosalyn’s journey began at age 3 when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The remarkable young girl has “spent years going through daily hospital visits for spinal taps, IV chemo, and daily at-home chemo medication. However, she recently went into remission after completing her last treatment in March.”
Make-A-Wish and AGT arranged for Rosalyn to meet up with the show’s host, Terry Crews, as well as the judges, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, and, of course, Simon Cowell, to deliver a private performance of Lavigne’s “Warrior.” The judges gifted her with a signed AGT T-shirt as well as Barbie dolls.
Crews then introduced Rosalyn as “a star in her own world,” and said, “we love her so much.”
In a video of the special event posted by the Make-A-Wish foundation on YouTube, Simon can be heard predicting that Rosalyn will be the winner of AGT “around about 2027.”
The other judges also had enthusiastic praise for the confident singer.
“I can’t say that I liked it, I loved it!” Klum exclaimed.
“You’re the most amazing singer I have ever heard!” Mandel said. Vergara chimed in that Rosalyn was “gonna be a star” and she was “the best act of the night.”
Simon Cowell then showered her with the golden confetti reserved for contestants who receive the “Golden Buzzer” and gifted her a box of the golden confetti, asking her to promise one day to return to perform again.
Rosalyn’s mother, Emily, told People, “Rosalyn would like to tell everyone that it was amazing to go on America’s Got Talent, and everything was unreal.”
The grateful mother also wanted everyone to know that this is the sort of dream come true that people’s donations to Make-A-Wish can make a reality.
Music helped this young warrior beat cancer and now she’s sharing the hope of her victory with the world.
