Watch: "Jealous" Family Cat "Protests" Newborn's Arrival with Dramatic Display - It Only Took One Whiff
When Cayden and Katie Cazier welcomed their 2-day-old baby girl home, they were excited to introduce her to the family cat, Fifi.
The Salt Lake City, Utah couple decided to record the special moment. After all, there is nothing more precious than that first meet and greet between fur baby and newborn.
In most cases, four-legged friends enjoy meeting their new human companion. Fifi however, let the cat out of the bag on how she felt about the new addition.
In the video shared to TikTok, Fifi can be seen sniffing the newborn and suddenly backing off then running to a different room. Moments later, Fifi started heaving.
The video had many viewers wondering what was going through Fifi’s mind. User HurricaneTShea commented, “Cat is thinking, ‘I’m gonna lose me job!’” Another user, Alexandria Buzzard, commented, “Cat said you gotta return her I’m allergic.”

Cayden told CNN that he knew that Fifi was going to throw up when he heard her “doing that thing with her tongue and kind of swallowed.”
According to KOLD, cats often gag when they dislike a particular smell. Cayden believes that Fifi’s actions were due to jealousy, especially since the 3-year-old cat had played the role of baby of the house since she was a kitten.
“I think probably jealousy ‘cause the baby definitely didn’t smell bad,” he told CNN. “She had a bath a few hours before.”
During the interview with CNN, Fifi could be seen barging in and getting in the way of the camera.
“She just wants to be front and center all the time,” said Cayden.
Since their first encounter ended in a cat-astrophe, Fifi has steered clear of the baby. The video currently has over 1.7 million likes on TikTok.
